Yipee!!!!

I found out today that I passed my principal certification test!!!!

We had a busy weekend:
Friday after work- I went and saw my friend Julie and her newborn twins. Adorable! Then we were suppose to go into town, but I was so tired that I just couldn't.

Saturday AM- went to the Katy teacher job fair (just in case; you never know) BUT missed out on Christine's brunch.... sorry CB- insurance and paychecks will be needed

Saturday PM- dropped Cary off with the boys to watch the draft, did some shopping, returned to the draft party and hung out with the boys (I will not be going next year since I swore I wouldn't this year- Sunday got to be "my day" though) Yes, Cary is very excited that Magee went to the Cowgirls, I mean Cowboys. Let's hope he can show some of that talent now that he doesn't have Fran over him.

Sunday- we met Tim and Lindsay for lunch at Chuy's (yum!) and then ran some errands

Today is my brother's 27th birthday! His fiance's birthday is in two days, so we're all meeting for dinner to celebrate with them tonight.

Tomorrow and Wednesday is T.A.K.S. testing- ugh.

Earth Day 2009

My students today watched a video of the Dr. Seuss book The Lorax. (I didn't even know of this book until another teacher told me about it.) It's very cute and ties into Earth Day well with a great message. (We watched it on Google video- go search and watch. It's about 25 minutes.)

I'm finishing up my final grad school project (an equity audit) and present it tomorrow! Can you believe I'll be done???? Two years back when I started feels so long ago some days, and then sometimes I can remember sitting in the informational meeting like it was yesterday. It will be nice to go home from work and know the hardest part of my day is over.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

This weekend was my old roomie's bachelorette party! We had so much fun. Her twin sister flew in town, and her brother was great enough to rent a van to drive us wild girls around- yahoo for safe nights on the town!
Here is the bride-to-be herself

Me and Christine at dinner
(Vincent's is yummy!)

These fun girls are Mary and Jessica. They both married guys that I went to high school with. These girls are great fun!!!

Carolyn is Christine's twin sister. She flew in from Omaha to throw her sister a fun bachelorette party. With her is their sister-in-law, Kelly.

Christine and I love hanging out with the groom's sister, Josette. She's so sweet and fun!

Christine is a great dancer! You should have seen her on stage at Howl at the Moon! I'm pretty sure Josette has video of it, but I'll let the future family hold that one over her head.

A fun, safe time was had by all. I know the upcoming wedding will be a blast as well.

Birthdays and Easter

Last Friday Cary's dad came in town and stayed with us. (Claire is still in Australia.) The guys had fun grilling LOTS of ribs and pork loins... tons of left overs. We enjoyed dinner, sharing stories, and wine.

The next day we were going over to Cary's brother's house for an early Easter lunch. I said I'd bring salad and dessert, so I decided to make cupcakes. Being that it was Easter weekend, I thought we needed colorful frosting. Cary had never mixed food cloring in frosting. You would have thought I had given him a winning lottery ticket- he made SEVERAL different colors. (Note to all you new moms- make sure your boys play with food coloring or at 30 they'll act nuts in front of their girlfriends.)

We eventually headed over to lunch, and Jamison showed all of us how he's perfected his new trick of sitting up! He's so dang cute!

After that we headed to my parents' house to celebrate my dad's birthday. We played Wii, drank wine, and enjoyed some Tin Roof B-B-Q. Bobby had the good idea for us to get Dad a BluRay, so after Cary set that up we all watched a movie together... well, all of us but the birthday boy who fell asleep, of course!

For Easter we got up bright and early and attended Sunrise Service- I don't know why we do this; it makes us so tired after. It was nice to run into some old friends though.
After breakfast, Cary and I headed back to the house so I could study some more for my comprehensive exam for graduate school. I studied some, but the weather was so nice that we spent some time playing frisbee at the park.
Monday I drove to College Station and took my test- glad that's over with! The wildflowers were amazing along the highway. I should have stopped and taken pictures, but I was alone and didn't really want to stop. I forgot what a great drive to College Station it is in the spring.
